My top 5 fixed blade knives:
#5 Bark River Bravo 1 LT
#4 SurviveKnives GSO 5.1
#3 Boker Field Butcher
#2 Bark River Ultralite Bushcrafter
#1 Bradford Knives Guardian 3
My favorite fixed blade knife is still the Guardian 3 although it is a bit short. The 3.5 did not exist back when I bought the Guardian 3 but it seems like a very nice companion knife. The new version in CPM-3V should be able to do some tougher tasks.
"We have an exciting announcement:) Next week we are releasing our limited edition Guardian3.5 in CPM-3V! This is a small batch of blades, so don't miss out. The Guardian3.5 is my everyday carry and coupled with the toughness of 3V, I can't wait to personally carry this blade combo:) Our newsletter is always the first to hear about any exclusive or promo. Stay tuned! " - Bradford and Nicole form Bradford knives

Once I had my basic EDC kit (multitool, knife ,flashlight) covered, I wanted to add more stuff that might be useful. There are many options for small EDC gear but not everything is actually useful.

Buck announced a limited edition of the classic 110 Folding Hunter for 2021 with some substantial upgrades form the original:
These changes will definitely improve the knife's functionality but in my opinion there are just too many alterations from the classic. It would be better to introduce this knife as an entirely new model but form a marketing perspective I can understand Buck's decision. An upgraded classic is probably more appealing to potential buyers than a random new knife in a sea of new offerings.

I have been camping and fishing with 3 friends on the Kruščica Lake in Croatia. Here are some valuable lessons that I learned on that trip.
After a long love-hate relationship with my ESEE4 I am finally happy with it but only after making significant modifications.
This guide is meant for people with some basic knowledge about knives (blade teels, grinds, locking mechanisms etc.)

This is the setup I used on my recent hike to the mountains.
This is an updated version of my EDC in the Maxpedition Micro.
This is my smallest EDC setup from a few years ago. The flashlight is a bit outdated but maybe it can still be useful to give you some inspiration for a micro setup. It is even smaller than my Maxpedition Micro pocket organizer setup and therefore I call this one my Nano setup. It is so small and slim that it fits into the smallest pockets. It consists of only three tiny EDC items:

Wuben offers a multifunctional tool/Flashlight with the Gecko E61. Some of the features are:
In my opinion, Wuben tried to squeeze a lot of functionality into a single tool - maybe even too much. My impression of this tool can be summarized by Wuben's own statement on their website: MORE LIKE AN EDC "PLUS IT'S A PEN" THAN JUST A PEN THAT DOES OTHER STUFF

These knife modifications are relatively cheap and easy to make:
1. Add a lanyard to the handle 2. Reprofile the blade / changing the edge angle 3. "Heat anodize" a titanium or aluminum pocket clip 4. Add a fire steel notch to the back of the blade 5. Put tennis racket tape or inner bicycle tube on the handle 6. Put a forced patina on carbon or tool steel bladesHere are four basic EDC items in plain grey titanium (stonewashed).
